We Gather in Good Company
Friends & Folk is where living practices meet real people - hands-on, heart-led, and rooted in place.
Friends & Folk series
Friends & Folk is our free-or-by-donation series of gatherings at Ninth Wave Arts.
This is where we meet in accessible ways, through seasonal rhythm, creativity, shared experience, and time spent together. Some gatherings are outdoors. Some are around a table. Some are reflective. Some are lively. All are grounded in care, attention, and participation.
Our online Friends & Folk circle extends this spirit between gatherings; a gentle space to stay connected, share reflections, and hear what’s unfolding next.
Come when it works.
Participate as you can.
 Stay for what feels meaningful.
Vendors & Makers
Local hands. Local skill. Local story.
Our artisan vendors and makers bring craft and creativity into the life of Ninth Wave Arts. Through seasonal markets and gatherings, they share work shaped by care, rhythm, and lived practice.
Supporting them strengthens living practices in our wider community.
Facilitators & Readers
People who carry practice.
From song circles to writing workshops, from sound experiences to story hearths, our facilitators bring depth of study and lived experience into the space. Each one contributes something distinct and relational.
Allies & Friends
Working alongside.
Friends, land stewards, local groups, and neighbouring initiatives help widen the circle of care. These relationships keep the work grounded in real place and real people.
Volunteers
Participation in action.
Volunteers are part of the living fabric of Ninth Wave Arts. Some help once. Some tend space seasonally. Some walk with us longer. We value sustainable involvement over urgency.
We would rather someone help once with care than overextend and disappear.
Whether you come to make something, tend something, listen, sing, or simply sit — Friends & Folk is a place to participate in living practices in good company.
Begin where you are.
 Follow what feels alive.
