A Tree for the Season

About The Experience
Trees make the changing seasons visible.
Through leaf, flower, fruit, bare branch and new growth, they change continually while remaining rooted in place.
In this three-hour workshop, we’ll explore the Tree of Life as a symbol of connection, growth, rootedness and the changing rhythms of life, then create a small Tree of Life suncatcher inspired by the season we are moving through.
Using a metal hoop, wire, beads and charms, you’ll build your own tree and choose the colours and materials that speak to you.
A Tree for the Season can return throughout the year, with each gathering taking inspiration from the season at hand. Each workshop stands on its own, but those who return can gradually create a collection of Tree of Life pieces—a small forest marking the passage of the year.
No previous wire-working or jewelry-making experience is needed, and you don’t need to follow a prescribed seasonal colour palette—your tree can reflect the season, your own intentions, or simply the materials you’re drawn to.
About the Facilitator
Melanie Paquette is an unapologetic lover of symbol who works with tarot, runes, stones, and story as living tools for navigating real life.
A jewelry maker and diviner, she approaches her work as a practice of listening — tracing the threads between myth and the everyday, growth and grief, question and insight. She is one of the teachers in the MiddleWorld Mysteries program at Ninth Wave Arts, where she supports others in working in cycle with season and symbol. Known for her steady presence and ability to hold complex threads, Melanie creates grounded containers where people can build maps they can actually walk by — whether through cards, crystals, or craft.
