A Little Samhain Magic, and a Lot of Good Company

Our 2026 Samhain Artisan Market & Seasonal Celebration
Some gatherings are about what you find. Others are about what finds you.
On Saturday, October 31, Ninth Wave Arts welcomed makers, friends, neighbours, old companions, and curious wanderers to our Samhain Artisan Market & Seasonal Celebration.
And what a gathering it was!
With approximately 250 visitors, it was our best-attended market yet. But what made the day memorable wasn't the number of people who came. It was everything that happened when they got here.
Nine Waypoints, Three Ghosts, and a Dragon
Visitors followed our Samhain FolkQuest, searching for nine waypoints marked by three little ghosts, gathering seasonal treasures along the way.
At the Bundle Bar, those treasures became Samhain fire bundles, carrying something of the season and perhaps something their makers were ready to release.
Our redwood dragon, Saoirse-Nashira, welcomed visitors, questions, and photographs with her usual mysterious composure.
Dragons do enjoy a little attention.
Stories Around the Fire
At the bonfire, experienced MiddleWorld Mysteries folk welcomed visitors and witnessed their fire bundles finding their way into the flames.
There was something quietly beautiful about watching what unfolded. In MWM, we sometimes call this fire divining—noticing how the fire takes hold, what burns quickly, what resists, and what remains.
Some stories take longer than others to reveal themselves.
Samhain also brought a lovely informal MiddleWorld Mysteries reunion, with old friends reconnecting and newer folk finding their way into the circle.
Inside, our sharing cups, Tribes Tree, group crystals, drums, and Tribes plates were gathered together, holding memories of many years and many turns of the Wheel.
The People Who Make the Magic
Our wonderful artisans filled the market with beautiful work, imagination, and the stories behind what they make.
There was music, laughter, conversations, and plenty of wandering. We even managed to deliver soup, snacks, and warm drinks to our vendors' tables.
Because really, good community ought to come with soup.
A heartfelt thank-you to our vendors, volunteers, and MiddleWorld Mysteries folk, whose creativity, generosity, and helping hands made the gathering possible.
At Ninth Wave Arts, we're not simply putting on markets. We're growing a community where people can gather, share, create, learn, and remember their belonging to something larger.
And Saturday was a lovely reminder of what that can look like.
Until the Wheel Turns Again…
We've already got a few ideas brewing for our next Beltane Artisan Market & Seasonal Celebration.
We should probably finish putting away the Samhain decorations first.
But where's the fun in that?
The Wheel keeps turning. The stories keep unfolding. And good company makes the journey all the better.
Come Gather. ๐ฟ
